Our aim is to foster a dynamic and stimulating environment that realises and supports individual and collaborative research projects. This is achieved through an exchange of ideas and practices within and across the disciplines, directly benefitting the wider academic community as well as industry, business and the public. Kingston School of Art has a well-established and internationally renowned research culture that encourages and supports high-quality, innovative research through practice, history and theory. Many of our art, design and architecture courses focus on studio-based learning – it is here that your ideas come to life. This is why we provide great workshops and the latest equipment to support and enhance your learning experience.

So much of what I learned at Kingston helped me also in the masters degree I finished soon after at LSE, in which I focused my dissertation yet again on the art market for a completely different subject . The Art Business MA is accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors for entry as a probationer practitioner. It is the only RICS-accredited course for antiques and fine art and you can join RICS as a student member when you enrol. RICS student status is exclusively for those working towards a professional career in surveying. Our students come from all corners of the world and often take the learning of the course back to their own countries.

The course is committed to provide a flexible learning experience to widen participation with blended teaching and learning opportunities. The course will examine the exciting relationships and intersections between creativity and management, art and business. It will also be fundamental to discuss how societal, political and environmental shifts have important implications for those working in the creative industries, be it marketing, engagement, production or distribution. Our course aims to explore what shape, systems and structures exist, and how this affects various forms of value, the management and ‘flow’ of creative goods, and the creative process. CABN – Creative Arts Business Network, supports the professional creative sector in the Scottish Borders, with a focus on creative micro-businesses across all artforms. We also engage with, and provide support to sectoral organisations and community groups, and work with a range of partners to develop further opportunities.

Global Master of Business & Management MBM

The purpose of this module is to introduce key concepts and debates around global commercial art markets, from various perspectives and with all stakeholders in mind. If you’ve got no idea where to start or just want to check you’re on the right track, we’ve got expert advice and real examples from our students to help you nail your personal statement. Annual and modular tuition fees shown are applicable to the first year of study. The University reserves the right to increase fees for subsequent years of study in line with increases in inflation (capped at 5%) or to reflect changes in Government funding policies or changes agreed by Parliament. Following your request to transfer at the end of Level 5, you will be asked to make a formal application.

Access our skills to maximise commercial income or community impact in the arts, culture & heritage world, through digital and physical events and training and workshops to help build your ideas and projects. You’ll also take part in three core Liberal Arts modules bluefoundationsite.com and one Global Perspectives module that facilitates interpersonal, intercultural, cross-disciplinary learning, increasing self-awareness and a sense of global citizenship. Topics include employability, equality, entrepreneurship, diversity and sustainability.

BA Liberal Arts (Business & Management) Current Issues and Trends in Business This module covers a wide range of contemporary issues such as fintech, brand strategy, managing innovation and international business law. Looking at variety of case studies, you will gain an insight into how a particular topic relates to the world outside the classroom. Learn from staff who combine strong academic credentials with deep industry experience, offering insights into the latest trends and the chance to apply your learning practically.

We join two students, Hannah and Taiba, on a tour of some of Birmingham’s key art establishments that are only a walk away from the School’s Margaret Street home.
